Delta Sigma Chapter History
In the fall term of 1925, the Diana Klub* was formed at Western State Teacher’s College. It originally consisted of 16 women, however, rose to 25 by years end. The Diana Klub was developed for the purpose of promoting higher social ideals for women in college. Membership was based on Scholarship, Character and Social Leadership. Ten women, nominated by the Freshman class, were pledged each Spring quarter. Then upon their return in the fall, each woman would be initiated.
On October 24, 1943 the Diana Klub became the Alpha Pi chapter of Pi Kappa Sigma. Ms. Dorothy Ball Williams was the chapter’s first president. Then in September 26, 1959, Pi Kappa Sigma merged with the National Panhellenic Conference and became the Delta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Kappa.
